The Amelia Project inspires and educates students about the film industry while emphasizing the importance of planning for their future. We offer guest speaker opportunities to share our experiences and motivate young creatives. We also offer film showings like The Ocean – 5 Years to engage students in meaningful storytelling. Additionally, internships and job shadowing for hands-on industry exposure. Our goal is to provide unique learning experiences that empower students to pursue their passions with confidence.
The Amelia Project assists both high school and college students. High school students can gain experience through job shadowing opportunities and casting experiences, allowing them to explore the film industry firsthand. College students can take advantage of internships, which provide in-depth industry exposure, professional networking, and skill-building opportunities to help them take the next step in their careers.
No, there are no costs. The Amelia Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and our mission is to provide students with valuable opportunities in the film industry at no expense to schools or students. We are committed to investing our time and resources to support and inspire the next generation of creatives. However, students will have to provide their own transportation.
Students will have access to a variety of professional resources to enhance their hands-on learning experience. From lunch-and-learns to on-set observation, they will gain an immersive look into the industry and see professionals at work. Additionally, they will get behind-the-scenes exposure to the editing process of documentaries, commercials, and video shoots, gaining valuable insight into post-production workflows.
FAQs for Parents
If your child is under 18 years old, they are still welcome to participate in The Amelia Project! We offer programs and opportunities specifically designed for young aspiring filmmakers. However, a parent or legal guardian may need to provide consent and be involved in certain aspects of the program, depending on the activity. Please check the specific program details for any age restrictions or parental requirements.
The time commitment for The Amelia Project varies depending on the program or opportunity your child participates in. Some workshops and events may be single-day experiences, while mentorship programs or hands-on projects could require a longer commitment over several weeks or months.
Through The Amelia Project, your child will gain hands-on experience and valuable insights into the film and marketing industry. Additionally, they will develop important skills such as teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and networking with industry professionals. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where young filmmakers and marketers can explore their passion and build a strong foundation for future opportunities in the industry.
